Description

RETTEW is seeking an experienced Civil CAD Designer to join our Land Development Team. This full-time role is hybrid (three days in office per week) and offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of civil/site and energy projects.

Work Environment

Hybrid work schedule: three days per week in-office.

Locations: Williamsport, PA; Mechanicsburg, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; St. Clairsville, OH; or Akron-Canton, OH.


Position Summary / What You’ll Do

As a Civil CAD Designer, you’ll perform drafting and detailed design using AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce technical drawings for land development, energy, and infrastructure projects. You’ll work independently and efficiently under the direction of senior designers, engineers, or project managers.


Responsibilities / Day-to-Day

- Create complex drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to support design and permitting efforts.

- Review local, county, and state ordinance and design guidance documents.

- Prepare design plans for oil and gas well pads, impoundments, pipelines, and subdivision/land development projects, including PCSM plans.

- Perform detailed grading and cut/fill balancing.

- Develop utility plans and profiles.

- Design erosion control measures and prepare associated plans.

- Support cost estimating through quantity takeoffs.


Qualifications

Required:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

- Minimum four years of relevant design experience.

- Associate’s degree or technical school certificate in drafting, design, or related field.

- Experience preparing land development, grading, profiles, erosion and sediment control, PCSM, and oil & gas project plans.

- Ability to collaborate effectively in both office and field settings.


Preferred:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology or related discipline.

- Experience with additional design software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, Revit, etc.).
