Toray Advanced Composites is a leading supplier of thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials for the aerospace and industrial advanced composite industry. The thermoset composites from Toray Advanced Composites are used on satellites, radomes, unmanned aircraft, general aviation and military aircraft. Toray Advanced Composites also provides thermoset composites in high end industrial and recreational applications ranging from oil and gas to prosthetics to sporting equipment. We provide thermoset materials with epoxy, BMI, cyanate ester or high temperature polyimide resin matrices.

Parts Manager

REPORTS TO:

Director of Operations 

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Parts Manager is responsible for managing all parts manufacturing operations, tool fabrication, and program management activities.  This role ensures that customer requirements consistently  met through effective leadership of Production Supervisors and Program Managers.  The Parts Manager drives safety, quality, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and parts planning.  The position works closely with the Program Managers, Quality, Materials Management, Inside Sales, and Process Engineering to deliver results in a timely and cost effective manner that meets customer and company requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provide leadership for all manufacturing efforts within the parts manufacturing area 
  • Partner with Inside Sales and Engineering to communicate order status and lead-time to customers.
  • Ensure that all parts manufacturing inventory transactions are accurate, timely manner, and properly documented
  • Be well versed in inventory control skills; able to train others in this area, develop metrics, and implement monitoring methods to ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and cross training to meet current and projected production demand.
  •  Incorporate feedback from Quality and Program Engineering to implement corrective actions and improve operational performance.
  • Actively contribute to the plant safety committee; enforce compliance with safety rules and standards in all assigned areas.
  • Drive the manufacturing group to achieve customer delivery requirements and performance goals.
  • Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives with Engineering and Materials Control.
  • Oversee parts planning activities, aligning capacity, materials, and labor with production schedules and customer demand.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations or designee.

 

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in computerized inventory control and production scheduling systems.
  • Experience in build-to-print and build-to-specification environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams..

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to move throughout the manufacturing floor regularly to observe operations, support employees, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as part of normal daily responsibilities.
  • Work involves routine use of computers and office equipment.
  • No significant lifting requirements beyond occasionally moving files, documents, or small tools.

SALARY RANGE: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 DOE
