Operations Engineering at IMI brings together Applications Engineers, Project Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers who manage the full lifecycle of engineering activities—from evaluating and applying best-fit equipment, to detailed design, fabrication support, commissioning, and project close-out.

About the Role:
As an Engineering Supervisor, you’ll apply your knowledge of engineering principles and material handling system design expertise to lead a team of engineers. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll strategically assign resources, oversee quality, and ensure your team has the tools and direction needed to succeed.

Major Duties:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and/or designers in the design and execution of material handling systems.
- Act as a working Supervisor, contributing directly to project deliverables while validating and coordinating the work of others.
- Provide technical oversight, ensuring designs align with standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.
- Partner with Project Engineers and Project Managers to resource projects effectively and forecast team capacity.
- Identify and implement improvements to engineering tools, processes, and workflows; serve as a knowledge resource for your team.
- Collaborate with other engineering leaders to drive continuous improvement in standard practices, automation, and documentation.
- Escalate personnel actions when needed and manage day-to-day team performance, workload distribution, and accountability.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships across engineering, project management, fabrication, and client teams.
Qualifications:
- You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, or 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervising role.
- You possess a thorough knowledge of the team’s processes, drafting, and design standards.
- You’re proficient in 3D CAD Systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, PTC CREO), AutoCAD & and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- You have a detail-oriented mindset with a strong ability to track progress, ensure quality, and close gaps.

- You’re passionate in continuous improvement, being a key contributor to the development of the Engineering Process
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, communication, and people skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional integrity.
- Able to execute on multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
Physical Demands:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.

- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
Work Environment:
- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
- Interaction with team members and clients in both remote and on-site locations.
- Occasional site visits to fabrication shops or project locations.
- Periodic evening or weekend work as project schedules demand.
