Essential Functions: This Development Specialist position is responsible for the oversight and management of database integrity with the primary focus on processing and acknowledgement of all gifts to Manning Family Children’s into Raiser’s Edge/NXT. This position is also responsible for general constituent data maintenance duties, as well as supporting other business and administrative activities of the office of development including acknowledgement communication, list pulling and reporting. The development specialist also supports implementation, training and adoption of processes and technologies relative to database use and relationship management for all levels of staff.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 3 years Experience in fundraising and events for a non-profit or similar experience
  • 3+ years In a healthcare or hospital setting preferred
  • Experience working closely with public relations, marketing and communications professionals


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree

GENERAL DUTIES

Database Management: - Champions the acquisition, implementation, training and adoption of processes and technologies for effective constituent relationship management for all levels of staff. Maintains the most up-to-date level on training on all Blackbaud systems. Takes lead on all augmentation / cleanup of existing data sources and ensures constituent data is fresh, current and as complete as possible to ensure the most effective use of all the information available. Maintain CRM database by performing system updates both schedules and as necessary. - Adds new constituent records to the database and populates all appropriate data fields where information is available and uses available research tools to source missing information Ensures accurate and timely entry and updating of current donor and new prospect contact information, donor records, and activity records of files. Manages the bi-weekly transfer of data from online giving portal to donor database.

Gift Processing & Acknowledgment: -Support the Development team by recording and tracking all donations received and overseeing the accuracy and integrity of the donor database. Manages all aspects of gift processing and acknowledgement procedure, including processing daily gift batches. Assigns gifts to appropriate fund based on campaigns, funds, appeals and packages, and generates weekly fund-based acknowledgement letters. Produces various reports pertaining to gift processing, including, but not limited to weekly gift report, monthly report to be reconciled with Accounting, Fund and Appeal reports, monthly renewal and lapsed donor reports and monthly pledge reminder reports. - Assists development team with generating mailing lists for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, direct mail, and special event purposes. Ensures compliance with department policy and IRS regulations for gift acceptance, administration and acknowledgment. - Determines appropriate processing method and special handling requirements regarding restricted funds, securities and gifts-in-kind through research and interpretation of policies. Assists with balancing gift accounts with the Accounting Department on a monthly and year-end basis.
