The Opportunity
 
Ebury’s growing portfolio of sports sponsorships presents a unique opportunity to strengthen our brand, build deeper client relationships, and generate high-value leads within the sports and corporate sector. Currently, these activities are managed by the local teams alongside their day-to-day responsibilities. To fully unlock the potential of our sports partnerships, we are creating a dedicated Partnerships Manager role.
 
This position will serve as the central point of contact for all sports sponsorship activities, ensuring a cohesive, strategic, and measurable approach across Ebury’s global network. You will have the chance to shape this role, create lasting impact, and help position Ebury as a leading financial services partner in the sports industry.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
1. Partnership Management
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with the partnership teams at our sponsored sports organisations.
  • Leverage these relationships to secure introductions to decision-makers within the sports industry and associated business networks.
  • Develop a streamlined process for tracking and managing referrals, ensuring seamless handovers to local Ebury offices.
  • Collaborate with front-office teams to follow up on leads and monitor progress through to conversion.
  • Regularly report on the effectiveness of partnerships, tracking key metrics such as lead generation and conversion rates.
  • Actively participate in club networking events and away days to maximize relationship-building and business opportunities.
2. Hospitality Management
  • Design a strategy for maximizing the value of Ebury’s hospitality assets across all sponsored teams.
  • Establish clear guidelines for allocating hospitality to support sales efforts, deepen client relationships, and reward key stakeholders.
  • Create a centralized system to track hospitality inventory and usage.
  • Develop innovative hospitality experiences for:
  • Client Entertainment: Premium matchday events, exclusive access, and meet-and-greet opportunities:
  • Prospecting: Inviting potential clients to unique hospitality experiences.
  • Client Rewards: Offering exclusive experiences to strengthen loyalty.
  • Employee Engagement: Using hospitality to recognize and reward internal teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and client relationship management, to ensure maximum impact.
  • Measure and report on the ROI of hospitality activities.

Experience & Skills 

Required
  • Experience in the sports industry: A solid understanding of the sports landscape, including key stakeholders, trends, and business models. This could include experience working for a sports team, league, agency, or sports-related brand.
  • Strong relationship management skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, partners, and sponsors. This should include experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing external agencies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: Ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing. This includes experience presenting to senior management and creating compelling marketing materials.

Desirable

  • Sports sponsorship activation experience: Direct experience leveraging sports sponsorships to generate B2B sales and brand engagement.
  • Global perspective: Experience managing partnerships or marketing initiatives across multiple international markets.
  • Financial services knowledge: Understanding of financial products and services, particularly those relevant to Ebury’s business model.
  • Data-driven approach: Ability to manage budgets, track ROI, and make strategic, evidence-based decisions.
