State Sales Manager – Driving Growth and Leadership in Clinical Waste Solutions

 

Med-X, part of the Freightways Group – one of Australasia’s largest logistics and information management organisations – is seeking an experienced and driven State Sales Manager to lead our continued growth and customer success journey.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive new customer acquisition, expand key accounts, and build a high-performing sales team dedicated to delivering market-leading clinical waste and related services.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a state sales team to exceed targets
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue, margin, and customer growth
  • Manage the full sales cycle – prospecting, proposals, tenders, and negotiations
  • Collaborate with operations, marketing, and customer service teams to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Build strong pipelines and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and key account progress
  • Represent Med-X at industry forums, networking functions, and stakeholder events to grow brand presence
  • Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence in all sales activities

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in sales leadership or business development, with a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets and customer retention goals whilst maintaining budgeted profit margins
  • Background in healthcare, waste, logistics, or other service-based industries an advantage however, we welcome experience from outside these industries
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Sharp commercial acumen with proven success in pipeline management, key account growth, and negotiations.
  • Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships and engages effectively with stakeholders.
  • Tech-savvy, organised, and adaptable – confident with Microsoft Office and CRM systems, thrives in fast-paced environments, and open to travel as required.
