Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated In-House Foodservice Sales Representative to join our sales team. This role is pivotal in driving revenue by selling foodservice products to existing and prospective customers, including restaurants, caterers, K-12 and distributors. The ideal candidate is passionate about the food industry, excels in communication, and thrives in a fast-paced, office-based sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Generation and Follow-Up: Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls, emails, and marketing-generated leads. Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, or web.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business. Act as the primary point of contact for customer needs.
• Sales and Order Processing: Present and sell food products and services, provide product demonstrations (e.g., using samples), process orders, and coordinate with foodservice producers to meet demand.
• Account Development: Develop and execute plans to grow existing accounts and acquire new customers, meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Market Awareness: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development.
• Customer Support: Resolve customer concerns, coordinate deliveries, and ensure smooth sales processes by collaborating with warehouse, logistics, and other internal teams.
• Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and performance metrics using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce). Prepare daily call reports and weekly work plans.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales leadership, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and enhance customer experience.
• Industry Engagement: Participate in marketing events, such as trade shows or seminars, to promote products and network with potential clients.
Requirements
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in foodservice sales, B2B sales, or related fields (e.g., chef or food industry roles).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and online meeting platforms.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong phone presence and presentation abilities.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with foodservice industry trends, products, and customer needs (e.g., sanitation, safety, and culinary requirements).
• Sales Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Experience with foodservice-specific CRM tools or sales analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., CIP, OPC) or culinary expertise.
Work Environment
• This is an office-based role, with occasional travel for trade shows or customer events.
• Requires regular, consistent, and punctual attendance per company policy.
Compensation and Benefits
• Competitive salary range: $50,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
