Job Summary: Provide technical support to Engineers in the form of drafting/CAD modeling, process support, fixture/prototype builds, and packaging documentation. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide CAD support to Engineering: update drawings/models, internal electronic documents, etc.
  • Learn and Execute offline programming support for Punch, Press Brake, Panel Bender and/or Laser; desirable
  • Update manufacturing documents including storyboards, work instructions, packaging instructions, etc.
  • Create/design basic fixtures & jigs, tooling, prototype components, etc. as needed for manufacturing
  • Provide manufacturing process support via Machine/Tooling setup, WI creation/validation, data collection, 3D printed parts, etc
  • Actively work with Engineers and Production to define and carry-out improvements in work stations/processes.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation of tooling inventories and other department records.
  • Adhere to engineering standards, specifications, and practices. 
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management to insure that all are informed as necessary to ensure that products are completed successfully.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with employees to ensure that projects are completed as smoothly and effectively as possible.
  • Provide information and training to others as necessary to ensure that the most accurate information is available to other employees as needed.
  • Creates a climate in which plant personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities commensurate with customer and company goals.
  • Assemble job router packets as required.
  • Create sample/low volume parts/assemblies, as required
  • Participate in special projects and carry out other duties as assigned


Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

  • CAD experience, preferably in SolidWorks
  • Excellent blueprint reading ability (including Weld symbols & GD&T)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing
  • Basic skills in using metal fabrication tools
  • Experience utilizing: Press Brakes, Panel Benders, CNCs, welding equipment, etc; preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience: 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associates degree (AAS) in Drafting, Manufacturing, or Engineering Technology from a two-year college or technical school and one-year related experience and/or training
  • Electro-mechanical experience a plus.

Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-2:00pm
