The American Equity Summer Internship Program offers an immersive real-world experience, closely replicating the career journey of an American Equity professional. Each intern will contribute to meaningful, hands-on projects that drive measurable business outcomes, gaining valuable experience along the way.

Interns will also have the opportunity to present their project work to company leaders, network with executives, and participate in educational programs designed to support their personal and professional growth. Additionally, interns will engage in community service projects and social events, building connections with fellow interns and the broader American Equity team.

The internship will be a 10 week program located at our downtown Des Moines office.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary role of the Eagle Life Sale Intern is to provide ongoing support to the Eagle Life wholesaling teams by assisting them in identifying opportunities in their regions, building & executing marketing campaigns with our partner firms which results in driving sales toward our fixed & fixed index annuity product lines. The intern will provide valuable support to professional staff within organizational functions that align with their field of study and contribute to ongoing projects gaining hands-on experience in a structured, professional environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Shadow team members to learn the essential duties and functions of the role.
•    Gain a basic-level of understanding around annuities and how they fit into the financial planning process
•    Familiarize yourself with our product lineup and our unique capabilities.
•    Assist wholesaling teams with illustration & pre-sale support requests, advisor list segmentation and creation/execution of marketing campaigns.
•    Work with data to unlock new insights that will provide actionable opportunities for sales execution.
•    Assist the Advanced Planning team with market research and updating key collateral. 
•    Build strong working relationships and partner with other critical teams, including: Marketing, National Accounts and Customer Excellence to achieve Objectives and Key Results.
•    Learn and Utilize various software tools to perform vital job functions. Salesforce CRM, Illustration Software, Customer Service Database. Etc.
•    At the conclusion of the internship, present learnings/accomplishments to key stakeholders.
•    Completes project and support tasks with guidance from mentor and department leader. 
•    Collaborates with fellow interns across departments on a strategic, cross-functional initiative that drives meaningful business impact.
•    Performs other related work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
•    Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Business Management or a similar field

•    ***At the beginning of the Internship program, Eagle Life will sponsor your enrollment in a study course for the IA Life License including 1 exam fee, to be completed with 90 days of enrollment. ***
