  1. Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Student Worker/Teaching Assistant is to provide general office and research support to the assigned instructor and department. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends and additional office duties as assigned by the course instructor or Dean.

  1. Education and Experience

Minimum

Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

 

Preferred

Previous office experience isn't required, but is a plus

Student should maintain a current GPA of at least (2.5/3.0)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and/or related software.
  • Organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work and resources.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.

 

  1. Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office or arts studio and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.

 

  1. Other Requirements 
  • This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required.  Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required
  • Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner
