This Industrial Refrigeration Engineer V position is with Kysor-Warren Epta, part of the global Epta Group, located in Columbus, Georgia. As a key technical leader, you will play a critical role in the design, production, and field support of refrigerated power plant packs and industrial refrigeration systems. Your contribution:- Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval.
- Lead technical projects or phases of projects involving refrigeration design and development.
- Coordinate cross-functional design approvals and implement changes from concept through production.
- Guide and support drafters, designers, technicians, and shop personnel to meet project requirements.
- Design and/or redesign refrigeration products to improve performance while ensuring compliance with UL, NSF, DOE, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct technical investigations and originate or modify materials for enhanced design.
- Determine sizing and source large industrial subcomponents.
- Create refrigeration designs for industrial R-744 systems.
- Design for manufacturability and assembly to optimize production efficiency.
- Support industrial system startups both remotely and on-site.
You bring deep expertise in refrigeration design, leadership, and technical project management. Additionally, you have the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 20 years of refrigeration design experience.
- High competency in applying engineering science and technology in practical settings.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in CAD software and refrigeration design software.
- Basic knowledge of SAP environment (a plus).
- Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated ownership, urgency, and accountability in managing projects.
- Experience reviewing models, drawings, and Bills of Material.
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration controls in R-744.
- Ability to plan tasks and lead engineers and drafters to deliver on designs.
- Proven experience with project management and planning.
