Develops, produces, and modifies new and existing products for Beazer Homes. Directs and supervises work of Design Manager. Works directly with division president and their staff in procuring design guidelines, programs, market data, etc. necessary to prepare designs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates workload and deadlines with Design Manager.
- Understands programs for designs, which incorporate square footage, room count, required options, flex spaces, cost targets, detail requirements, specifications, etc.
- Prepares construction drawings and attends prototype frame walks as required.
- Assists Division President in the review and evaluation of new products and plan changes. Researches Company’s existing product database to find possible matches for new designs.
- Regular tours of Beazer product and direct competition frequently to develop a full understanding of each product style, needs, and requirements.
- Attends continuing education seminars, product tours, and trade shows to keep abreast of market trends and changes.
- College degree from accredited institution in related construction/design field and six years of progressive residential design experience or a minimum of three years of related architectural design college course work/technical degree and ten years of progressive residential design experience preferably with hands-on field experience.
- Possesses proven cost effective design talent and a keen eye for detail.
- Thorough knowledge of residential construction, general codes requirements, and design preferences throughout the country.
- Proficient in use and applications of CAD drafting software and related computer operations.
- Proficient in E-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and related computer communication operations.
- Ability to manage people and exercise leadership sensibly and effectively. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to travel overnight 10% of the time.
