Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop and mobile computing support, train users, and diagnose problems
  • Assist in managing firewall and security software/hardware
  • Administer all IT equipment – desktop computing, Windows servers, printers, office telephone systems, cellular phones, video conferencing, switches, routers, and other general networking equipment to ensure 24/7 access
  • Apply software patches/upgrades and respond to user requests as needed
  • Perform proactive maintenance on all computing equipment
  • Be available for on-call on a weekly rotation (once every 3 weeks)
  • Adhere to agency policy and procedures
  • Act as a role model within and outside the agency
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about department issues
  • Demonstrate flexible/efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
  • Consistently report to work on time, prepared to perform duties of position
  • Ensure safe work practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Computer Networking or related field
  • A+ or Microsoft MCSA certification preferred
  • Two years of general computer hardware experience
  • Two years of networking experience including experience with remote connectivity software such as RDP, Citrix, and VPN preferred
  • Experience with Windows Server, Exchange, Windows 7/10 OS
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, administration, creation of user accounts, and email
  • Experience with VMware or other virtualization technology
  • Experience with .Net, ASP and other programming a plus, but not required
  • Acceptable Background Character Verification

 

Wage Range $18-$22/hr.  based upon experience and/or education
