JOB SUMMARY:

Textron Aviation Parts Distribution is looking for an intern to use and develop their manufacturing and industrial knowledge. Our interns are highly motivated with great communication skills and they contribute to the team by helping determine the manufacturability of components, assemblies, and tooling and help find solutions of manufacturing customer related difficulties or improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in identifying manufacturing processes, tooling methodology, discrete manufacturing operations and associated time standards to be used to produce new parts/assemblies
  • Learn how to develop learning curve and actual hour projections for new program production incorporation
  • Researches improvements and cost justifies manufacturing techniques, processes, and procedures to reduce costs.
  • Assists in identification of new technology and manufacturing techniques to improve safety/ergonomics, reduce manufacturing cost (labor, material, inventory, scrap), and improve product/process quality
  • Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes production process data for their use
  • There will be exposure to work cross functionally with a wide variety of disciplines

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET)
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Robotics Technology
  • Other related fields

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer Proficiency (MS Office, CAD, etc.)

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.  

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.   

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
