Purpose
The Implementation Manager – Strategic Markets plays a pivotal role in the onboarding and implementation readiness of new and emerging therapies and programs to PANTHERx. This individual will serve as a key liaison between internal teams and manufacturer partners to ensure a flawless patient-centric launch experience. The Manager will lead cross-functional project planning and drive process alignment with the pharmacy’s commitment to excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Leads and manages end-to-end implementations of new and emerging therapies and programs to PANTHER and/or manufacturer partnerships by setting the implementation strategy considering timelines, impacts, and risk.
- Serves as the primary point of contact during implementation, addresses client needs, status updates, and problem resolution.
- Provides additional escalation points for issues that may arise throughout the implementation period.
- Helps address implementation roadblocks, removes obstacles or other constraints.
- Manages multiple client projects at one time.
- Provides guidance and recommendations to client about implementation and integration procedures to add the greatest value for the client.
- Partners closely with manufacturers to interpret and align launch requirements, including cold chain, REMS, hub integration, and reporting.
- Collaborates with manufacturers and trade partners to understand program requirements and ensure proper integration with pharmacy operations.
- Leads a project management team to ensure timely completion of agendas, meeting summaries, project plans, and assigned tasks within established deadlines.
- Supports the development and management of detailed internal and external project plans, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Facilitates cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment between pharmacy operations, clinical services, IT, compliance, and client services.
- Serves as a pharmacist subject matter expert (SME) during implementation and post-launch optimization.
- Leads business rules documentation and alignment internally and externally.
- Translates manufacturer requirements and clinical protocols into clear, actionable business rules for internal operational use.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation reflecting clinical, operational, and system-based rules for each new therapy.
- Processes standardization to align with business rules.
- Tracks project performance, identifies risks, and drives timely mitigation strategies.
- Conducts clinical and operational readiness assessments for new programs and proactively identifies and mitigates risks or barriers to patient care.
- Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), timelines, and patient experience metrics during implementation phase.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license (RPh or PharmD) in good standing.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in specialty pharmacy, clinical operations, or biotech/pharma, with focus on rare diseases, high-cost therapies, or new product implementation.
- Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
- Proven experience managing client-facing projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in a high-touch, patient-centric model, with strong understanding of specialty logistics, hub models, and access barriers.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare experience.
- Proficient with project management tools and MS-Office applications.
Work Environment
This position operates in a home or professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
