Reports to: Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis 

Purpose

The Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a crucial role in our finance team. This role supports the financial planning and analysis activities and ensures alignment with our strategic objectives. This position conducts financial analysis, developing financial models, and providing valuable insights to aid in effective decision-making. 

 This is a hybrid position that requires on-site presence regularly in our Pittsburgh office, as determined by the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis or Executive Leadership, or in response to specific job demands.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining financial models and tools to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Conducts comprehensive financial analysis, identifies trends, and provides strategic insights to senior management.
  • Provides insightful analysis regarding period over period and actual vs. forecast performance; continually improves and manages variance analyses reporting.
  • Collaborates with various teams, including controlling, accounting, and other functional departments, to gather, validate, and analyze financial data.
  • Monitors key financial metrics, proactively identifies areas of concern, and recommends appropriate actions.
  • Develops a deep understanding of business drivers at both the product and overall enterprise levels.
  • Plays a key role in supporting growth, efficiency and value-maximizing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in financial planning and analysis or similar role.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, such as Excel, and experience working with financial planning software. 
  • Self-starter who can deliver in a dynamic environment under tight timelines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present actionable insights.
  • A proven ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.
  • High sense of accountability and urgency.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the specialty pharmacy or a related healthcare field.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as reading or working with various forms of data for extended periods of time on a computer screen.
