Responsibilities of a Maintenance Assistant:
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
- Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders and document repairs
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Fabricate and weld components as needed
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems
- Supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance projects
Qualifications for a Maintenance Assistant:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Experience with facilities maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with logic controllers and electrical systems
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Basic welding skills preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Leadership skills to supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance projects
