Responsibilities of a Maintenance Assistant:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
  • Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders and document repairs
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Fabricate and weld components as needed
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems
  • Supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance projects

Qualifications for a Maintenance Assistant:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Experience with facilities maintenance and repair
  • Familiarity with logic controllers and electrical systems
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Basic welding skills preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Leadership skills to supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance projects
