The Golf Shop Attendant will be responsible for greeting Members by name, maintaining knowledge of Club Rules, Tournament Information and Club Services.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephone and assist callers with requests and/or needs.
  • Assist members and guests with their shopping experience.
  • Assist Members and Guests with Club Rules, Tournament Information and Club Services.
  • Greet Members and Guests appropriately and spread good will.
  • Provide shopping assistance to Members and Guests.
  • Display, rotate and restock merchandise.
  • Ensure the Shop is neat and tidy.
  • Organize counter space.
  • Maintain and organize Golf Shop records.
  • Charge all golf related fees for the day (user friendly POS).
  • Receiving, ticketing, and placement of incoming merchandise
  • Special Orders and Vendor Returns
  • Ensures that opening, closing, and daily retail operations are being conducted according to LGCC policies and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale, pricing, display, and sales.
  • Provides exceptional customer service on the sales floor to enhance our members’ and guests’ shopping experience while maximizing sales.
  • Assists with monthly inventory and reconciliation.
  • Proactively responds to all member and customer feedback in a timely manner.
  • Assist in receiving and inventorying new merchandise.
  • Ensure all merchandise is correctly tagged and priced.
  • Assist in the operation of the point-of-sale system to record sales and member fees.
  • Assist in scheduling tee times and answers questions regarding the use of golf facilities.
  • Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments.
  • Assists with checking in golfers as needed.
  • Be informed of, and promote club activities, and services.
  • Maintains a professional and clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels (verbal and written)
  • Must be highly service focused with a desire to engage with members & guests.
  • Comfortable working in a challenging environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards.
  • Always maintain a well-groomed appearance and clean uniform.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness is necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with an aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Computer knowledge - Proficient in Word, Excel, email, internet use tournament software, and POS system.
  • Minimum of 2 years retail and/or hospitality/golf/country club experience
  • Knowledge of golf merchandise
