Job Summary

For the SVP and President of the Adult Services, oversees the administrative management of the senior leadership's office and collaborates with and leads all administrative staff in departments directly reporting to the senior leadership. Uses concepts and organizational objectives to resolve the most complex issues with organization-wide impact

Involves providing administrative oversight for an executive, including the coordination of communications and pertinent data among a group of the executive's subordinate management staff. Performs and / or oversee special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation. Handles details and oversees work of a highly confidential and critical nature to support the executive on matters of significance.

 

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $87,900 - $187,700 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related areas and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible executive-level assistant experience.  
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to solve complex issues. Must communicate well and build and maintain a climate of trust. Must interact and negotiate in a professional manner with a variety of highly influential entities, the Chancellor and UCSF Health Leadership, major donors/members of the UCSF Foundation, Congressional and Legislative offices, UCOP, Deans, Department Chairs, Chiefs of Ambulatory Practices, Faculty, and Department and Clinical Managers
  • Proficiency PC Microsoft Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint Outlook and Visio are essential.  
  • Advanced service orientation. 
  • Extensive experience in scheduling complex meetings involving multiple participants. 
  • Broad knowledge of UCSF Health operations, politically astute and organizationally savvy to confidently represent Administration. 
  • Expert knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of common organization-specific computer applications.
  • Advanced analytical /and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, problem-solving, advising and counseling skills.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to use a high level of discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Mid-size project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical centers, campus or other academic medical center settings.
  • Advanced political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization as well as the Office of the President and external constituencies.
