Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown steadily into a 25+ person, NY-centric team advancing the redemptive quests of founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. The Role
This role reports to the Partner of Finance & Operations at Praxis. The Sr. Manager, Systems & AI Solutions at Praxis is responsible for leading the strategic integration and optimization of technology—particularly AI-driven solutions—across the organization’s operations and workflows. As a tech-forward, systems and process defined non-profit, we lean heavily on technology to execute our core programs, events and processes including:
+ 200,000 records in our CRM & Data Management tool, Airtable, and growing
+ 50 Projects in Asana and growing
+ 25 FTEs that actively utilize Slack, Gsuite, Notion and Email
Our team is tech-forward and deeply engaged in building, prototyping, and thoughtfully adopting AI-powered solutions across our core applications. We’re seeking an operational leader who brings a track record in AI and systems design, and who can help us scale up the way that we leverage technology; boosting productivity and efficiency while maintaining the quality that defines our work. The right candidate will guide and support our tech-savvy team through ongoing change, ensuring new tools are not only implemented, but truly embedded in our culture and workflows.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Systems Leadership & Implementation
- Conduct internal research to find pain points in organizational systems, build out project plans, and work with the team to implement systems updates and workflow automations
- Identify areas of the organization's internal operations and data that could use technology-enabled upgrades and lead implementation, with a special focus on AI solutions
- Document SOPs and IT processes and create user guides to reduce support requests and improve staff self-sufficiency for tools and systems
- Identify key competencies across the organization (i.e. mentor recruiting) and lead value-added ways to support team with streamlined processes and timelines
- Provide first-line technical support for staff hardware, software, and network connectivity issues across Mac environments
- Diagnose and resolve common IT problems including account setup for all software tools and application troubleshooting
- Provide due-diligence and strategic oversight on information architecture for tools such as AirTable, Notion, and Asana
- Find and supervise contractors to help implement AirTable builds and data cleanup
- Research cost-effective technology solutions that align with annual budget and negotiate favorable terms for software licensing and hardware purchases
- Assist with database management and reporting tools used for donor management and program evaluation
- Support virtual meeting technology and remote work capabilities for distributed teams
AI Integration & Strategy
- Develop and execute an AI strategy that aligns with broader business objectives
- Evaluate, select, pilot, and integrate AI-driven solutions across business processes—from automation to analytics and workflow optimization, ensuring a match with the company’s needs and infrastructure
- Maintain continuous awareness of AI trends and best practices and champion adoption where it drives outcomes
- Ensure seamless integration with existing digital tools, workflows, and processes
- Serve as a thought leader and coach by continuously educating and training the team on best practices and real-world AI use cases
Data Maintenance & Information Security
- Evaluate User Access & Permissions quarterly to ensure that the right team members have the right level of access to key tools
- Lead annual data cleanup for Airtable, Dropbox, and Google Drive
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
- Implement and monitor basic cybersecurity policies around information security and AI usage
- Ensure compliance with data protection requirements and donor privacy standards
- Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery procedures to protect critical organizational data
- Own provisioning and deactivation of user accounts during Onboarding & Offboarding processes
Expected Competencies for the Role
- 5+ years’ experience in IT/systems leadership (including with SaaS or cloud ecosystems)
- Demonstrated experience leading or implementing AI or automation solutions
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with a wide range of tools
- Excellent communication and change management abilities
- Expertise in the Praxis set of digital tools, including but not limited to Google Suite, Dropbox, Airtable, Slack, Zapier, Asana, Typeform, and Ramp
- Strong attention to detail and ability to gather & report on data, as well as provide second-level critical thinking to provide a holistic analysis
- Crisis management capabilities with ability to maintain calm under pressure and bring clarity to ambiguous situations
- Preferred: Experience in nonprofit or ministry contexts with understanding of mission-driven organizational culture
Additional Details
Location:
Strong preference for candidates able to work out of our NYC headquarters in Manhattan
Travel:
- ~20 days/year or more including team meetings and events
- Quarterly team meetings at NYC HQ
- Annual Summit in Napa Valley, CA
- All travel expenses covered by Praxis
Reports to: Partner, Finance & Operations
Compensation:
- $115k - 145k based on experience and location
