POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality and safety standards before reaching customers. This role performs inspections, measurements, and documentation of product quality, supports root cause analysis and corrective actions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. In addition, the Quality Control Technician assists in the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process for SmartWheel and other Gatekeeper products by evaluating returned units, performing quality assessments, and documenting findings to support corrective actions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining Gatekeeper Systems’ reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality solutions by applying technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to quality procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS; but not limited to:
- Make a visual product inspection and record results to a spreadsheet
- Use a product-specific meter to take quality measurements and record the results
- Read, interpret, and follow technical engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to perform final product configuration
- Upload data to the material management system for the account manager
- Assist with problem-solving – root cause analysis – corrective actions
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results
- Perform quality work checks to assure the product meets quality standards
- Assist and/or substitute in quality control station as needed
- Maintain inventory of products in the configuration area
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Small assembly tasks using common tools
- Communicates effectively with others and can function and get along in a team environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Intermediate computer navigation and utilization skills
- Must be able to use a digital multi-meter
- Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
- Ability to use reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
- Great attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Technical problem-solving skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required; may be required to pass ruler test
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of mechanical or computer assembly experience preferred
