Required Qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the University of North Florida’s Institute of Environmental Research and Education. This OPS (Other Personnel Services) position is part-time, working up to 29 hours per week, and will focus on leading and developing student programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in the planning and implementation of student programs related to environmental research and education.
  • Assist in the implementation of other student programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the current coordinator of student programs to ensure smooth operation and success of these initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, communication, and documentation for student programs.
  • Facilitate student engagement and participation in various events, workshops, and projects.
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and external partners to enhance the quality and reach of student programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, and assist in preparing reports and presentations on student activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to student involvement and program achievements.
  • Develop and implement mentorship programs that connect students with experienced professionals and alumni.
  • Gather and analyze student feedback to continuously improve support services and address any concerns.
  • Create marketing strategies and promotional materials to increase event attendance and engagement.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of student program affiliated event.
  • Provide event support for IERE and UNF-related events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in organizing and coordinating educational programs or events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in environmental research and education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic or work experience in environmental-related fields.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working in academic setting.

Working Hours

This position requires 25 hours per week with flexibility to work up to 29 hours as needed. The schedule may vary based on program needs and events, but flexibility is expected to accommodate student activities and coordination tasks.
