Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our network in Tucson, AZ! Our practice has been providing patients with unparalleled care and exceptional oral surgery experiences for over 50 years. We are a team of four oral surgery experts who are devoted to improving the lives of others in the Tucson, Oro Valley, and Sahuarita communities. Our team also believes in making a social impact in the communities in which we live by providing complimentary oral surgery services through our Summer of Wisdom and New Smile campaigns. We also focus on a robust educational program to educate and build relationships amongst the dental community!

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Deliver a distinctive patient experience with every patient both in person and over the phone
- Answer calls, and schedule new and existing patients for dental treatment
- Welcome patients into the office upon arrival, gathering necessary information such as patient demographics, insurance information, and updated health history.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming patient waiting area
- Collect patient payments and post them to their patient ledger
- Update necessary documents into patient chart
- Outbound calls to patients for confirming upcoming appointments
- Additional duties as needed such as assisting with laundry, taking out the trash, refilling supplies in restrooms, and any other necessary tasks in our office
Scheduling focused duties:
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments via phone, text, and email.
- Ensure appointment times are optimized to minimize downtime and meet daily/weekly production goals.
- Coordinate follow-up care, recall visits, and treatment plan appointments.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information about services and appointments.
- Handle cancellations, no-shows, and schedule adjustments promptly.
- Verify patient demographic information in the practice management system.
- Maintain organized records of scheduling activities and patient communication.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a dental front office setting
- Customer Service experience
- Passion for delivering the best experience
- Ability to collaborate and be team-oriented
