Automotive Variable Operations Director

The Variable Operations Director will lead and oversee all variable operations across a group of multiple dealerships. Responsibilities: 

· Develop Leadership, and Process Excellence Strategy. 

· Provide strategic leadership support to dealerships’ management and sales teams. 

· Set clear performance expectations/goals aligned with the dealership objectives and manufacturer. 

· Collaborate with fixed operations, F&I, and marketing teams to create synergy across departments. 

· Champion standardized sales processes, ensuring consistency across all stores. 

· Implement and manage lead processes, CRM utilization, follow-up standards, and digital retail strategies. 

· Monitor KPIs and hold teams accountable for process execution and performance metrics. 

· Maintain Sales Performance & Manufacturer Excellence. 

· Drive new and pre-owned vehicle sales performance across all rooftops. 

· Ensure achievement of OEM standards and recognition programs. 

· Support and foster manufacturer relationships. 

· Analyze market trends, inventory, and performance metrics to drive profitability and volume growth. 

· Reduce aged inventory. 

· Recruiting, Hiring & Retention - Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of future leaders. 

· Culture & Training - Build and sustain a high-performance, customer-based sales culture. 

· Implement comprehensive sales and management training programs across all locations. 

· Conduct regular store visits and in-person coaching to promote leadership development. 

· Career Development - Foster a workplace environment where growth and recognition are prioritized. 

Skills & Qualifications: 

· Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience in automotive retail, with at least 5 years at the General Manager or Director level. 

· Demonstrated success in overseeing variable operations across multiple high-volume dealerships. 

· Expertise in sales, F&I, inventory management, and customer experience strategies. 

· Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills. 

· Strong analytical acumen with a proven ability to interpret data and execute results-driven strategies. 

· High level of integrity, professionalism, and executive presence. 

· Reynolds & Reynolds preferred. 

· Ability and willingness to travel consistently between dealership locations.
