Genesee Intermediate School District Additional Information: Show/Hide - Assesses local area network and wide area GenNET operations with technical staff, directs network operations improvements, and engineers high-level network resolutions.
- Researches, analyzes, and recommends equipment and software purchases, and resolves connectivity issues and pre-engineered designs.

- Coordinates equipment installation and training with the Information Systems Supervisor, the Director of Technology Services, and the Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Media Services.
- Conducts customer needs assessments to determine present and future technical service training and retraining requirements.
- Ensures documentation is developed to support current and future technical service applications.
- Manages Technical Services Contracts for districts, including network support, shared services support, and VoIP.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for product purchases.
- Manages all technical facilities of GISD and GenNET.
- Ensures equipment is operational and performing optimally.
- Oversees all systems maintenance and back-up.
- Performs the highest level of troubleshooting, diagnosis, and determines the need for outside technical assistance.
- Establishes and oversees a system of user support and consultation services related to network and systems design.
- Establishes and facilitates advisory committees on software/equipment applications in the assigned area.
- Establishes systems for security and disaster recovery.
- Coordinate E-Rate projects to ensure compliance with program requirements and timelines.
- Develops and manages Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to secure necessary services and equipment.
- Leads district Cybersecurity efforts, coordinated with the Director of Technology Services and the Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Media Services.
- Designs and coordinates network application procedures.
- Supervises the technical services staff and assists the Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Media Services in evaluating assigned support staff.
- Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
- Represents the GISD on various local, state and national planning committees as assigned by and in cooperation with the Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Media Services
- Participates in budget development and implementation.
- Participates in the development of pricing models.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $96,304 - $107,051 anually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for assessing and directing Technical Operations for GISD, GenNET, and Shared Technical Services (STS). Responsibilities include supervising all aspects of network, systems, video, and PC operations and as well as supervising, mentoring and evaluating technical staff. Also works with the entire Technology and Media Services team to resolve operational issues across the customer base. Manages STS Contracts and builds relationships with STS district staff, including local district administration and points of contact. Responsible for making recommendations on hardware, software, infrastructure, and connectivity issues. Screens, interviews, and recommends new staff for employment. Responsible for maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Incident Response Plans. Responsible for creating Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree required; in telecommunications, network engineering, computer science, open systems technology or related area. College courses, training, and/or specialty certificate in job classification; Technical certifications/training desired.
Experience:
Minimum five years experience supervising technical and support staff related to planning, developing and implementing large scale technology systems involving voice, video (distance learning/media distribution), and data telecommunications systems. Experience with large fiber optic networks preferred.
Skills/Other:
Knowledgeable of network topologies to include Gigabit Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switching devices, remote monitoring systems, internet, wide scale deployment of applications via fiber optic cable. Project and operations management skills and experience. Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and to assimilate new knowledge quickly and effectively to incorporate the products and outgrowths of evolving technologies. Ability to manage and document multiple projects. Strong teamwork, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district and the constituent school districts and vendors in the service area. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to work a flexible workday and work week. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative operating procedures.
