Position Description
This position will be responsible for participating in a research project associated with Ph.D. studies and the interpretation of the results of publication. Work is performed under the supervision of graduate faculty members with evaluation based on the accomplishment of assigned objectives and the overall effectiveness of the project. May supervise research and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
- Independently plan, conduct, and analyze original research focused on telomere maintenance mechanisms in pediatric cancers.
- Employ advanced molecular biology and translational research techniques to dissect cancer biology and therapeutic responses.
- Actively engage in collaborative research projects within and outside the laboratory.
- Supervise and mentor students and research staff; assist with data management and project coordination.
- Prepare and present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Author manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and contribute to grant applications.
- Maintain a collaborative and proactive work ethic, contributing to a productive and collegial research environment.
- Proficiency in modern molecular biology techniques and research design.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to train, supervise, and work effectively with students and research personnel.

Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with in vivo models and preclinical drug testing.
- Expertise in telomere biology, DNA repair, or functional genomics.
- Strong publication record for applicants level of training.
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in cancer biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related biomedical field.

Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions and other outcomes. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to plan and allocate the workload of employees, providing direct training and supervision as needed.
