Job Title: Load Planner

Location: Burton Upon Trent, DE14 2BG

Job Length: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week. Starting at 2pm and finishing at 10pm on a Sunday to Thursday basis. Flexibility required to cover other shift and work outside of these hours to suit business needs.

About the role:

This role is all about keeping our transport operation running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for planning trunking routes, making sure everything complies with drivers’ hours and WTD, and ensuring loads move safely and on time. If you’re organised, great with detail, and enjoy problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, this is a brilliant opportunity to make a real impact.

If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a Load Planner. Reporting to the Trunking Operations Manager, this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

Role Responsibilities:

• Planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the Primary Fleet  
• Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers’ hours. 
• Producing optimal transport plans and approving transport routes.  
• Assisting the Transport Planning Supervisor to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively.  
• Monitoring the Transport Management software.  
• Liaising with our depots and customers as required on deliveries and any issues. 
• Ensuring the department complies with health and safety legislation.  
• Producing cost efficient operational transport plans daily 
• Produce and monitor regular data reporting to review site and company KPIs

Experience and Key Attributes:

• IT literate with experience using MS Office. 
• SAP experience preferred however not required 
• Experience using Microlise, DiPS or similar planning tools
• Knowledge of working time directive and vehicle restrictions 
• Numeracy and literacy with attention to detail 
• Communication at all levels of the business  
• Previous planning experience within a logistics network
