THIS POSTING IS FOR SUBSTITUTE AND/OR LIMITED-TERM POSITIONS.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
Substitute Teachers will be assigned year-round on an as-needed basis, throughout San Diego County within educational programs operated by the San Diego County Office of Education. If selected and processed as a substitute, candidates may choose areas of San Diego where they would prefer to work.
Please note:
The SDCOE substitute pool is ONLY for SDCOE managed sites (located throughout San Diego County). We do not provide substitute coverage to the various San Diego County school districts and charter schools. If you have questions regarding their substitute hiring processes/getting into their substitute pool, please contact them directly (https://www.sdcoe.net/schools/finder).
This position requires one of the following credentials:
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit; or,
- A valid applicable credential as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
A Valid California Special Education Credential, authorization in Visual Impairment, is preferred for this recruitment.

In addition to the completion of pre-employment paperwork, applicants must have fingerprints conducted through Livescan service if they do not already have cleared fingerprints through the San Diego County Fingerprint Clearinghouse. SDCOE Fingerprint Clearinghouse out-of-pocket fee is $77.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. All required California Credentials (if applicable, as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) must be confirmed prior to employment with SDCOE.
