Under the direction and supervision of the Student Support Services Director, or designee, the Behavior Intervention Specialist will assist in coordinating, organizing and planning the District’s Behavior Crisis Intervention Team.

Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
License/Credential/Certification:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification
Knowledge of:
Knowledge, experience, and practice of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, Evidence Based Practices for students with Autism (Discrete Trial Training, Pivotal Response Teaching), early childhood development and Assistive Technology as it supports students with Autism.
Education: B.A. or B.S.
Experience:
At least 2 years’ experience in providing behavioral services for students with special needs, including conducting Functional Analysis of behavior; experience in providing professional development to staff in behavior strategies; experience in developing behavior intervention plans (BIP’s) and providing support for implementation.
Ability to:
• work with a wide variety of community groups and organizations.
• demonstrate character, personality, and proper social capability to relate effectively with racially and ethnically diverse staff, students, and community.
• communicate effectively in oral and written form.
DESIRABLE
Bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish or Vietnamese.
