- Provide recovery-focused patient interactions at all times.
- Obtain and document vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature); report abnormal findings.
- Perform venipuncture and collect body fluid samples for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare and send laboratory samples for processing.
- Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations per provider approval.
- Notify patients of test results and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Support patients in scheduling with BHMPs, RNs, and case managers.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the EMR system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and universal precautions in handling PHI and bodily fluids.
- Assist with document management, pharmacy refill requests, and outside referrals.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of clinical/lab areas.
- Support the mission of promoting recovery and patient-centered care.
- High school diploma/GED and Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited MA training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, or other U.S. Dept. of Education recognized agency).
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting with at least 1 year of behavioral health work experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid AZ driver’s license, vehicle with insurance, and ability to meet driving guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, supplies, and inventory processes.
- Proficiency in EMR systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and data entry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and teamwork.
