Position Title: Packaging Operator
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

McCain Foods (Canada) has an opening for a Full time Packaging Operator.
Qualifications:
o Grade 12 or GED
o Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
o Knowledge of computer operations an asset
o Experience with packaging machinery desirable
o Must be mechanically inclined and able to withstand heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs. unassisted)
o Ability to work with minimal supervision
o Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
o Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations
o Successful completion of training period
o Must be willing to cross-train on other packaging equipment
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Set up of machinery (includes computerized equipment)
o Changeover of machinery
o Operation of machinery
o Upkeep of tool shadow boards and changeover carts
o Quality checks of machine operations and materials
o Cleaning of work area
o Attend team meetings when required
o Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s)
o Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s
o Filling out paperwork accurately
o Ensure product codes are correct
o Other duties as assigned
Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.” Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
