Isaiah House is looking for a supportive and dedicated individual to take on the role of Recovery Mentor.
This is a regular full-time position working 11:30am- 10:00pm Mon-Thurs.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as a positive role model for clients by acting and speaking with integrity
  • Be available for one-on-one support when requested
  • Assist in leading structured activity groups
  • Share relevant personal recovery experiences to encourage clients
  • Promote client voice and choice during planning and implementation of goals
  • Support client retention and provide crisis intervention when needed
  • Advocate for clients by attending or accompanying them to team meetings if requested
  • Encourage clients to build confidence and advocate for themselves
  • Work closely with other departments to improve the client experience and retention efforts
  • Document client interactions, structured activities, and progress notes in KIPU
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Programs/Operations Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • APSS certified, or eligible to obtain certification upon hire
  • Minimum of one year of sobriety and demonstrate ongoing recovery
  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring challenges, and a demonstrated pattern of recovery 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license

Requirements

  • Adhere to Isaiah House policies and procedures
  • Attend mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required
  • Hold APSS certification
  • Maintain APSS certification
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist and support clients who may require reasonable accommodation
