About the Role

As a Revenue Focused Staff Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in accounting operations by supporting the day-to-day processes, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting. Your work will have a direct impact on our ability to continue to grow and scale as one of the premier Insurance technology companies in the country.

Please note: This is an onsite role working out of our Bethesda, MD office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the monthly billing process
    • Billing calculations
    • Generation of Invoices
    • Troubleshoot deposits, expenses, and customer payment variances and adjustments.
    • Maintain customer contact and payment information
  • Assist with Month-end close, including but not limited to:
    • Trial balance account reconciliations
    • Merchant account reconciliations
    • One-off & recurring journal entries
    • Processing weekly/monthly bank deposits
  • Accounts Receivable duties:
    • Assist in the processing of new sales orders
    • Responsible for ongoing customer receivables/collection issues
    • Monthly accounts receivable reconciliations
    • Apply payments received to customer balances
  • Assist in year-end financial audit and any other compliance requirements
  • Research and advise on new accounting standards
  • Document policies and controls
  • Ad-Hoc request/projects/responsibilities

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in from accredited university
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Understanding of recognition, cost center, chart of accounts and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-Starter with ability to work independently and think critically
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

 

Bonus Points:

  • NetSuite and Salesforce experience preferred
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance from accredited university
  • Insurance industry or SaaS experience
