Job Summary
This role is within Chamberlain Group's Human Resources function. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Assist the Building Services Manager in ensuring that all physical elements of the facility (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are up to code and maintained to operate at peak efficiency at all times and (ii) Coordinate the efforts of contracted cleaning, landscaping, vending and other service contractors to ensure contract compliance and address special needs as they arise. Education requirements include: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; Experience requirements include: 5-10 years of relevant work experience; experience in directing and training others in building and grounds maintenance; demonstrated ability to manage and direct capital projects including planning, costing, request submittal for approval, scheduling and execution.
Job Responsibilities
· Assist the Building Services Manager in ensuring that all physical elements of the facility (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are up to code and maintained to operate at peak efficiency at all times
· Coordinate the efforts of contracted cleaning, landscaping, vending and other service contractors to ensure contract compliance and address special needs as they arise
· Ensure consistent contact with office supply vendors to purchase materials and supplies along with independently expediting vendor activities based on need
· Collaborate with the management of the security, card access, video surveillance and fire protection systems regarding the maintenance, operation and procedure definition
· Respond to management and employee needs for ongoing facility support and activities; delegate work assignments to other team members as appropriate to support training and development
· Assist with mailroom and receiving processes to fill in and stay abreast of the operations while assessing the efficiency of the operations and championing changes as necessary
· Interface with local governmental Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) on permit, code interpretation, operations, fire, safety and police matters
· Respond to after hour emergency calls from Security Services making discretionary decisions regarding response levels up to and including police call out and travel to the site to evaluate response that may also include calling in other support staff
· Plan and manage minor capital plan projects such as new installations and renovations
· This position requires regular and predictable on-site attendance and the ability to work the particular shift and/or schedule to which you are assigned, as well as additional hours as needed
· Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams
· Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
· Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:
· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience:
· 5-10 years of relevant work experience; experience in directing and training others in building and
grounds maintenance; demonstrated ability to manage and direct capital projects including planning,
costing, request submittal for approval, scheduling and execution
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Microsoft Office
· Must be able to multi-task multiple projects keeping to tight timetables
· Ability and demonstrated willingness to mentor others in maintenance operations
· Ability to work independently for the majority of the time and maintain good working relationships with management, co-workers and contractors
· Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractor personnel and AHJ
· Ability and willingness to implement cultural and process changes that reinforce a company goal
Other:
· Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; ability to work weekend and off-shift hours
