Talent Acquisition Specialist

Brigham Young University is seeking a creative professional to join our team as a full-time Talent Acquisition and Social Media Specialist. This unique role combines your expertise in human resources and recruiting with your flair for social media to help attract top talent to BYU. What you’ll do in this position:
Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in developing recruiting strategies for your assigned areas.
Evaluate job postings for effectiveness and provide consultation for obtaining the desired applicant pool.
Act as point of contact and build positive relationships with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and Compensation Partners to effectively implement recruiting initiatives.
Collaborate with Hiring Managers to determine future hiring needs.
Evaluate job postings for effectiveness and provide consultation for recruiting desired applicant pool.
Screen applicants for assigned areas using sound judgment and discernment.
Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in creating and editing social media content, strengthening BYU’s employer brand.
Recommend ideas for promotional campaigns on various recruiting and social media platforms to drive increased traffic to job postings.
Monthly budget responsibilities.
Student supervision and mentoring.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field, plus 2 years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR or business.
Two years of higher education recruiting experience and one year managing social media accounts.
Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:
Required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong decision-making skills.
High level of emotional intelligence.
Ability to promote company brand.
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Ability to use Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Preferred
Knowledge of various selection processes (video interviewing, phone interviewing, reference checks.)
Knowledge of University and Human Resource Services policies and procedures.
Understanding employment best practices and hiring processes and procedures.
SHRM certification (CP, SCP, or Talent Acquisition)

Typical Starting Pay: $63,500.00-$82,500.00
