JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Representative II (BDR-II) will perform various duties to support the sales organization as assigned by the sales manager. The projects or assignments assigned will focus on generating new revenue with dormant or low performing accounts, increasing the efficiency of the sales organization, increasing profitability, and improving customer experience. The Business Development Representative will play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. This role primarily involves visiting prospects in the field (70%), engaging in cold calling and email outreach (20%), and other duties related to service & clerical requirements (10%). The primary objective is to cultivate relationships, deliver compelling presentations on our range of products and services, and ultimately secure new business partnerships. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None.  

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospecting: Identify and research potential clients in the assigned territory. 
  • Field Visits: Conduct 30-80 in-person meetings (Weekly) with prospects to deliver presentations, update sample understand their needs, and promote our products and services, and update sample devices. 
  • Cold Calling & Email Outreach: Engage in proactive outreach to generate leads and schedule appointments. 
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with potential clients and key decision-makers. 
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate their value to prospects. 
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver engaging and persuasive presentations to potential clients, showcasing our solutions. 
  • Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, including a set number of in-person visits and presentations. 
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions, sales leads, and customer information in our CRM system for all high value quotes, specification projects, and target accounts. 
  • Activity Based Metrics: Maintain accurate records of each activity associated with an account in our CRM System. 
  • Contact Management: Ensure that contacts are accurate and up to date in the CRM database. 
  • Sample Management: Maintain and update samples as directed or required and ensure mapping is correct and up to date in the CRM. 
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify opportunities. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Sales Team, Purchasing, credit and Marketing Department to develop effective sales strategies and deliver a unified positive customer experience 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse clients. 
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • General understanding of specifications in relation to the A&D Field and Fabrication

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. 
  • 2 or more years within laminate/wood working industry preferred, or 
  • 2 or more years of inside or inside or outside sales experience preferred with performance to quota. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to talk and hear regularly
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information, constantly operates a computer and telephone and other office machinery, such as copier, printer, and calculator
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% or more of their time  
  • Must be able to reach overhead, standing, walking, bending, carrying materials, kneeling, stooping, bending at the waist, and climbing stairs
  • Must be able occasionally lift and/or move items over 25 pounds

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • All work is performed within a standard office environment 
  • The noise level is usually at a low to moderate level  
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

 

TRAVEL

  • This position requires regular travel within the assigned territory. The Business Development Representative is expected to make 10-15 in-person calls per day. This position also requires visits to vendors and tradeshows for training estimated for 2-3 days each quarter.
