Position Summary
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for setting up and operating equipment to mix or blend specified raw materials to be used in dietary supplement products.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Reads, understands, and follows batch record.
- Prepares and mixes bulk powder materials in strict accordance with company formulation, quality standards, and production schedules under supervision.
- Discharges bulk material into containers.
- Operates, assembles/dis-assembles, and cleans all primary and auxiliary equipment, and associated rooms.
- Completes performed by portion of batch and other paperwork as needed, with thorough understanding.
- Performs all ‘performed by’ tasks related to the following equipment in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and Batch Records:
- Oscillator
- Rota Cone Blender
- PK V Blender (10, 20, & 30)
- Smico Sifter
- Ensures room has been released by Quality Assurance as indicated on the Equipment Use / Maintenance Cleaning Log. Make appropriate entries into log.
- Works with Supervisors, Leads, and trainers to verify all procedures have been followed.
- Performs all duties according to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), 21 CFR Part 111.
- Maintains a clean, neat work area, removing trash and sweeping as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education / Certifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Required Knowledge:
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Experience Required:
- 0+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills / Abilities:
- Able to follow standard operation procedures (GMP’s, SOP’s and Batch Records).
- Able to follow directions and communicate information (written and verbal).
- Able to use basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide); operate a calculator.
- Able to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
- Works and partners with others in a positive team environment.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment while wearing appropriate PPE including but not limited to laboratory coats, lab glasses, gloves, pants, hair and beard nets, and close toed shoes at all times.

Work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, powder or airborne particles.

Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, and exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity.

Ability to wear and properly utilize a respirator as mandated by company safety policies and regulatory standards.

Compliance with all respiratory protection program requirements, including fit testing and training.

The Manufacturing Technician position requires employees to work overtime based on operational needs, including seasonal demand fluctuations, project deadlines, or staffing needs. Whenever possible, mandatory overtime will be communicated in advance.
Finger Dexterity:
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms above/below shoulder.
Talking:
- Be able to communicate effectively and accurately with your team and supervisor to ensure manufacturing safety and SOPs are being followed.
Average Hearing:
- Can hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Repetitive Motions:
- Movements frequently and regularly require using the wrists, hands, elbows, and/or fingers.
Average Visual Abilities:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Physical Strength:
- The employee is required to regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand, walk for long periods.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds repetitively and handle up to 100 pound drums occasionally.
- Will be required to climb ladders and use balance.
- Will be required to work on elevated platforms up to 20ft.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations.
