Job Title: Assistant Corporate Used Vehicle Inventory Director
Department: Executive
Reports to: Corporate Used Vehicle Inventory Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
Assists the Corporate Used Vehicle Director in providing the used-vehicle sales departments with a supply of marketable used vehicles within management’s financial guidelines and purchasing policies, and assists with used-vehicle department management as directed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- In the absence of the Director, coordinates reconditioning with service and collision center personnel following each dealership’s system for ensuring vehicles are reconditioned to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, and dealership profit in a timely manner.
- Tracks customer interest in vehicles not in stock (lost sales).
- Keeps abreast of current market and current valuation of used vehicles.
- Appraises vehicle trade-ins at each dealership when present at those dealerships, utilizing VAuto as part of the appraisal process.
- Institutes extra marketing efforts to ensure profitable sale of aging units.
- Assists in ensuring the correct “mix” of used vehicles is available at each dealership to maximize profit, insure customer satisfaction, and minimize wholesale losses.
- Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding the used-vehicle industry.
- Desks and closes deals at each dealership.
- Utilizes eleads CRM software and Reynolds and Reynolds software during the course of serving as a replacement Used Vehicle Manager.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Attends managers meetings as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Some college and a minimum of three years’ experience as a Used Vehicle Sales Manager
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, emails, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, sales and accounting employees, and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic including fractions and decimals. Ability to understand supply and demand.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
