Good News Home Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women to break free from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. We offer residential treatment and aftercare for up to 12 women, combining short-term stabilization with long-term support and a structured therapeutic environment.
Our holistic approach nurtures mind, body, and spirit through a comprehensive program that welcomes clients regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Behavioral Health Monitors collaborate closely with residents and clinical staff to ensure safety, promote engagement, and maintain seamless continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct house checks every two hours to verify client participation in program activities or productive occupation
- Provide safe, reliable transportation to group meetings, church services, and other required events
- Maintain accurate, detailed daily logs documenting client concerns and behavioral observations
- Email daily shift reports to clinical staff, summarizing all activities and notable issues
- Promptly report client incidents or concerns to clinical staff and submit incident reports
- Administer scheduled drug tests following facility protocols
- Participate in all required staff training sessions and team meetings
- Deliver verbal shift handovers to incoming staff to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Enforce house rules and uphold a structured, therapeutic living environment
- Complete intake checklist procedures for new admissions, providing orientation and initial support

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum two years’ experience in substance-use treatment or mental health settings preferred
- Proven ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and set appropriate boundaries
- Strong interpersonal skills and respect for diverse client backgrounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet navigation
- Experience in driving a 12-15 passenger van is not required, but preferred
