Job Summary:
This position leads all marketing, branding, communication, and public relations efforts for Central California Blood Center (CCBC). As a key member of CCBC’s Senior Management Team, this position collaborates closely with internal departments and external partners to maintain and enhance CCBC’s positive public image. This position plays a vital role in advancing awareness of the volunteer blood donor program and the need for a safe, stable blood supply throughout the Central Valley and surrounding communities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Providing leadership, direction, development and implementation of marketing, branding, communications, and public relations plans to generate brand awareness and visibility for CCBC that lead to acquisition of new and existing blood donors, hospitals, and other key organizations within the Central Valley and surrounding communities.
- Ensuring all marketing and public relations efforts are in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Safeguarding CCBC’s brand integrity and being responsible for the development and deployment of all collateral materials, marketing materials, etc.
- Overseeing all integrated marketing efforts, ensuring clear, consistent messaging for the organization.
- Being responsible for the development, maintenance, and content for organizational communication efforts including external website, internal intranet sites, and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
- Ensuring the organization maintains a positive public relations position within the community and provides relevant news/special interest stories to various media outlets.
- Writing, creating, and publishing organizational communication, newsletters, donor correspondence, etc.
- Serving as a spokesperson for CCBC and facilitating all media and public relations requests.
- Managing, overseeing, and organizing special events on behalf of the organization (special event blood drives, employee events, hospital events, etc.).
- Using and analyzing data regarding donor demographics, donation trends, integrated media data points (social media, web, etc.), to determine effective marketing and communication strategies.
- Participating in senior level interdepartmental strategic planning and process development to ensure all CCBC programs (internal/external) are designed and communicated to brand consistency.
- Developing and managing the department budget while ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals and maintaining strict fiscal responsibility.
- Management and oversight of department employees to ensure adherence to all CCBC policies and procedures.

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Education/Licenses/Experience
- Four-year degree in communications, marketing, public relations or similar field is required.
- 5+ years of marketing, community relations (or similar field) senior level leadership experience is required.
Skills
- Proven track record in directing marketing best practices including creative and production needs.
- Experience in community development and event management is required.
- Knowledge of CRM, SEO and digital marketing platforms/strategies as well as a proven track record in staff development; verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills (including public speaking/on camera appearances) are required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform office-based tasks and necessary travel
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time for extended periods (working at a desk/computer).
- Good vision for reading reports, analyzing data, and reviewing marketing materials (with or without corrective lenses).
- Ability to view screens for long periods.
- Proficient use of hands and fingers for keyboarding
- Ability to stand and speak for extended periods at presentations, media events, conferences, etc.
