About this position
The External Affairs and Communications Department is looking for a professional with event management experience. The Events Group provides seamless, end-to-end services to meet the event needs of the IDB’s organizational units. As a team of highly specialized professionals, they possess a deep understanding of the strategic objectives, goals, and operational priorities of their clients. They work collaboratively to design and implement tailored event solutions that align with these goals.
What you’ll do
The Events Group provides expertise in the organization and delivery of IDB internal and external events. Working in close collaboration with all IDB departments, and using market practices, they offer recommendations and provide a variety of services that support a wide range of events based on client’s event requirements.
- Provide comprehensive technical and logistical support for the planning and execution of face-to-face, virtual and hybrid events, ensuring high quality service delivery aligned with the Department’s strategic objectives. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Scheduling and coordination of events.
- Identification and documentation of event requirements.
- Preparation of event budgets and monitoring of their execution.
- Coordination of all logistical aspects throughout the event lifecycle, including hotel bookings, venue arrangements, audiovisual setup, catering, translation, interpretation, printing, room setup and installation of event materials and equipment.
- Liaison and negotiation with external service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Support for Online, Hybrid and on-Site events.
- Expertise with online event platforms and execution.
What you'll need
Education: Bachelor’s degree in areas related to Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Project Management or related areas.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in event management.
Languages: Bilingual English and Spanish. Knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
