Compensation:
New hires start between $22.75 and $28.43 based on experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market factors. While the full pay range is listed for this position for pay transparency, individual compensation is determined by various factors and may vary within the posted range.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
This positon must ensure customers are receiving quality products, based on their dietary and contractual needs. The Production Kitchen Supervisor will ensure all Food Service staff comply with all facility policies and Department of Health food service regulations. The Kitchen Supervisor will prepare and deliver/serve meals, meeting nutritional guidelines, on a daily basis. This position supports the division’s goals by maintaining contract compliance by delivery of quality products to our customer while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen.
PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs supervision of kitchen staff, including schedules, performance appraisals, discipline, feedback and quarterly staff meetings.
- Conducts interviews, screening, selection and orientation for new hires.
- Creates monthly schedule for kitchen; responds to after-hours emergencies or staffing issues.
- Prepares and delivers/serves meals, meeting nutritional guidelines, on a daily basis.
- Plans the menus for customers to meet the needed; submit the menu for both FBOP properties to the dietitian for review annually and for other customers as needed to meet requirements.
- Keeps an inventory of food, placing orders as needed.
- Submit monthly meal counts to finance.
- Provides on-going training for kitchen staff to be able to meet the needs of the customers.
- Provides and documents completion of staff safety trainings.
- Monitors the cleaning checklists, temperature logs, and walk-in storage to assure compliance with food code and completion of documentation.
- Ensures that proper hand washing, hygiene, and infection control techniques are exercised.
- Participates in on-going food service quality assurance by conducting quarterly satisfaction surveys for all customers; review results with supervisor and create action plan to address needs identified.
- Makes site visits to all customers on a monthly basis. Addresses any concerns or retraining needs based on site visits.
- Creates and promotes a professional atmosphere.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, and management decisions.
- Supports operations by being cross-trained in all kitchen positions.
- Operates company or personal vehicle in the delivery of food to customers, travel to/from grocery store and or food suppliers to source products/supplies for facility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of meal preparation for specific dietary needs.
- Working knowledge of safety standards for kitchen staff.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to navigate computer systems to communicate via email, create menus, and to complete documentation.
- Experience delivering strong, quality customer service with attention to details.
- Strong personal and professional boundaries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- High school diploma or equivalence
- Two-years cooking experience with working knowledge of dietary needs/requirements and special diets.
- One-year supervisory experience.
- Current Washington State Driver’s License, clean driving record and valid vehicle insurance.
- Current WA Food Handlers Permit.
PREFERRED/DESIRABLE
- Two-year degree in Dietary Technician or Culinary Arts program
- 4 years cooking experience, institutional cooking experience
- Serve Safe Certification.
- Experience working with adults who have functional, cognitive disabilities, mental illnesses, and/or substance abuse disorders.
