The Senior Business Development Manager – North America would be responsible for researching potential markets, pursuing leads and ultimately agreeing new deals with prospective clients across the North American Market. They would have a good understanding of the market they are selling into and be an expert in the offering that Foods Connected has.


The Senior Business Development Manager will have responsibility for Sales activity within the North American region and align strategic goals from leadership and the Marketing team. 

The Senior Business Development Manager- North America is an instrumental part of the Sales & Marketing team and will report into the President of Foods Connected, North America. A strong knowledge and experience within the Food manufacturing or retail sector is required. 


Openness to travel in this role, is key to successfully helping our clients solve their toughest problems and implement solutions to improve their operations. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development-80% 

  • Researching prospective accounts in targeted markets, including but not limited to;
    Retailers, Food Manufacturers.
     
  • Identifying new opportunities within existing Foods Connected Infrastructure and supply chain. 
  • Attendance at industry conferences and proactively demonstrate and advocate for the benefits of the Foods Connected platform to target customers. 
  • Development of the company’s business development and sales strategy with key accounts. 
  • Leading Proposals / Statements of Work for core functionality. 
  • Lead product demonstrations to new customers. 
  • Collaborating with our Implementation Team to ensure a smooth transition from acceptance to project implementation. 
  • Fully understand our software solutions and those of our competitors. 

Product Implementation-5% 

  • Collaboration with the Software Development Team and Implementation Team to determine what will be included in the development plan for new business. 
  • Planning with our Implementation Team to ensure a smooth transition from acceptance to project implementation of new customers.  

Industry & Product Knowledge – 5 

  • Build an advanced knowledge of Foods Connected products and can apply the tools to any business environment, with collaboration and input of ideas from leadership from other departments.  
  • Will represent FC at interactive meetings and industry events.  
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of the food Industry with a strong industry network.  
  • Regular self-education on developments within the use of technology within the food industry. 

Leadership and Development of Business Development Department-10% 

  • Collaborate with Foods Connected people team to help structure team members learning and development and career progression.  
  • Be an approachable mentor who is viewed as an expert within the team and across Foods Connected. 
  • Will as the team grows provide oversight of and manage a team of Business Development Executives within a growing department. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • 5+ years’ experience in a role within the Supply chain of the food industry interacting with Software systems for tracking Production, Quality, Suppliers or Procurement. 
  • Prior experience with the Food industry. 

Technical Skills 

To perform this job successfully, the Senior Business Development Manager-North America should have experience with:  

  • Knowledge of software solutions utilised across the Food Industry. 
  • Experienced with CRM systems ideally HubSpot and reporting functionality within these. 
  • Prior Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Zoom Info would be an advantage 
  • Microsoft: 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
