What we want
The Communications Specialist II, under general supervision, writes, edits, and curates content to help shape how the world sees, feels and talks about our institution through compelling storytelling.

Salary: will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects.
Ability to work professionally and harmoniously in a service-oriented position.
Self-motivation and ability to manage time efficiently, as well as make quick decisions, with minimal supervision.
Critical thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external teams.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Content Curation and Creation
Creates, curates, edits and produces storytelling content for distribution across multiple channels, both internally and externally.
Collaborates with integrated content and creative team.
Develops and refines content in support of digital communications including social media, internal and external email communications, and university websites.
Enhances awareness of Texas A&M through strategic and intentional storytelling for internal and external audiences.
Project Support
Supports project timelines, assisting with coordination efforts across the division and university to produce internal and external content that aligns with key focus areas and emotionally driven stories relevant to key audiences.
Assists in developing and refining communications plans as needed.
Participates in planning and executing projects, focusing on implementation in alignment with established or outlined content calendar.
Contributes creatively to articles, feature stories, and news releases.
Publishes and updates content on assigned university websites as part of the storytelling effort within the division.
Digital Content Creation
Implements outlined strategy to follow important trends that align with digital communications and analytics.
Works collaboratively with fellow support teams in developing content for digital distribution and posting.
Provides updates for website content and participates in web projects as needed.
