Lead Platform Engineers (Google Cloud)

Contract roles - Day rates £800 to £900 (possible negotiation) inside IR35

12 month initial duration with Hybrid Working - 2 days a week in London/3 days from Home

Looking for strong Lead Platform Engineers to support our Clients journey onto the Google Cloud Platform where you will have the opportunity to shape the direction and success of our Clients new team.

We want people who enjoy mentoring/coaching but who are also happy to learn from their peers, all to ensure the team is constantly evolving together.

You'll work in a hybrid role which combines DevOps, Site Reliability, Platform and Systems Engineering, to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems.

Much of your focus will be on optimising existing systems on Google Cloud Platform, building new GCP PaaS and IaaS solutions for services currently not running on GCP and eliminating manual work through automation wherever feasible and a further stage will be to apply those skills to GCP.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expertise in the Google Cloud Platform with prior work experience at a senior engineering level within the field of DevOps (5+ years)
  • Expertise in integration tools like Jenkins, Google Cloud DevOps, Kubernetes & Istio (GKE an advantage)
  • Experience programming in at least two of the following languages - Java, Groovy, Scala, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, PowerShell or Bash/Shell
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, comfortable gathering requirements, being a strong communicator, with the ability to take ownership.
  • Knowledge of effective cloud architecture solutions.
  • Recently worked within Financial Services (an advantage)
