Principal Analyst - Cloud / AI

As a principal analyst at ISG, you will write provider-focused research reports to support ISG’s research coverage of European markets r egarding Cloud and other related topics such as AI or Security. You provide consultation to users and providers in areas of digital solutioning, architectural modelling, project management or financial modelling.ISG Provider Lens™ (IPL) is a practitioner-led service provider comparison empowered by ISG’s advisory experience and data-driven research. Research reports provide independent provider evaluations and enterprise buying behavior segmentation.

Project delivery - deliver IPL reports/ custom research & consulting projects end to end (50%)

• Deliver 3 (in case of allocation) Quadrant reports with a minimum of 5 quadrants in each report (these might change over time) – Private/Hybrid as well as Multi Public Cloud; suggest new quadrants through a year-round market screening and work hand in hand with ISG advisors and the potential clients
• Support or deliver Strategic Insights Reports (in case of allocation) in the context of the owned subjects
• Support Star of Excellence (SoE) activities: CX Insights reports, webinars, and other related tasks to increase the program value; ensure a proper provider engagement and enterprise response quantity and quality
• Support the enterprise-research strand in terms of strategy and implementation. This also includes a function to better integrate ISG Research at a global level and involve the advisory side to optimize the feedback loop.
• Deliver or Support Custom Research & Consulting projects with various facets regarding go-to-market support in the broadest sense.
• Sales influence - track providers and build up relationships (25%)
• Social Media Presence - be a thought leader/known SME (15%)
• Mentorship & Management - act as thought leader and program manager (10%)

Requirements

Technical Expertise and Industry Knowledge:

• Proficient in IT Research/Outsourcing (BPO) and IT/Industry Domain
• Experience in primary/secondary research or consulting projects, ideally with a leading research analyst firm; Experience with IT benchmarking is helpful.
• Deep understanding of information technology, service delivery, outsourcing contracts, and operating models
• Experience in business process architecture, solution implementation, financial modeling and BI and Analytics

Strategic and Business Acumen:

• Experience with CxO-level contacts within Global-2000 companies
• 10+ years of experience in consulting or corporate strategy with a focus on business or technology transformation

Communication and Leadership Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
• Experience working in a matrixed organization and collaborating effectively

Project Management and Organizational Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Deep understanding of change management practices and stakeholder analysis

Reputation and Branding:

• Established regional and global reputation
• Recognized as a brand in itself due to strong relationships within press and media

Your Education

A relevant university or bachelor's degree; MBA/Master's or other advanced degrees/ qualifications

• Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
• Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, ITIL4, PSPO, Prince2, SAFe or CCMP or specifically for hyperscaler clouds are desirable
