At WSU Tech, our Aviation Sheetmetal program prepares students with the hands-on skills needed to build and assemble aircraft components for one of the nation's most essential industries. As an Adjunct Aviation Sheetmetal Instructor, you'll bring your real-world experience into the classroom and lab, helping students gain the confidence, technical knowledge, and professionalism employers expect.

What You Will Do
Your experience will help bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace. Responsibilities include:
Student Learning
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in aviation sheetmetal assembly.
- Teach blueprint interpretation, measuring, layout, drilling, riveting, fastening, assembly, and industry safety practices.
- Demonstrate industry techniques while reinforcing quality, precision, and attention to detail.
- Evaluate student performance and provide meaningful coaching and feedback.
Workforce Development
- Prepare students for careers in today's aviation manufacturing industry.
- Share practical knowledge, workplace expectations, and real-world experiences.
- Foster professionalism, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset.
- Support an engaging, inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Industry Engagement
- Help ensure instruction reflects current aviation manufacturing practices.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to strengthen workforce readiness.
- Contribute to a program that supports the region's growing aerospace industry.
Requirements
What You Bring
Required
- Professional experience in aviation sheetmetal assembly, aircraft manufacturing, aircraft structures, or a related aviation field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate industry best practices in a hands-on learning environment.
- Commitment to student success and workplace safety.
Preferred
- Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Spanish-speaking ability is highly valued. The ability to communicate with students in both English and Spanish helps expand access to technical education, strengthen student success, and support the growing workforce needs of our community.
