Description
The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily supply chain operations through coordination of interplant transfers, transportation quotations, purchase order management, supplier communication, and procurement of indirect materials and MRO supplies. This position works closely with Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Sales and Suppliers to ensure timely material movement and accurate purchasing transactions while supporting overall operational efficiency.
Salary Range: $45K - 50K
**This role is located on-site in our HQ in Clarence, NY. No relocation is offered at this time.**
KKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and manage interplant transfer orders between company sites
- Monitor transfer order status and proactively communicate delays or issues
- Support Inter-Company process by compiling and submitting cross border paperwork packages to freight provider and custom's broker (US-Canada border crossings)
- Obtain freight and parcel shipping quotations in support of customer inquiries and sales opportunities
- Assist with shipment tracking and related system updates as needed
- Maintain and update purchase orders based on supplier shipping notifications and revised delivery schedules
- Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers regarding shipment status and delivery commitments, updating expected receipt dates and informing internal stakeholders
- Resolve purchase order discrepancies and communicate changes to internal stakeholders
- Purchase indirect materials, consumables, office supplies, and maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) items
- Solicit quotations and evaluate pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities
- Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with company purchasing policies
- Track open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Assist in identifying cost savings opportunities and supplier consolidation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, security, and operational policies and procedures
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, plus 0-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, supply chain, or materials management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business software and Microsoft office programs
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in coordination of domestic and international suppliers is preferred
- Knowledge of transportation, freight and parcel shipping processes is preferred
