This is a guest facing position; $18-$20 per hour
POSITION PURPOSE:
• The Village Market Line Cook is responsible for preparing made-to-order sandwiches, bagels, and other menu items while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, food safety compliance, and an inviting experience for customers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare sandwiches, Bagels, pizza, and other menu items according to customer specifications and established recipes.
• Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items and ingredients.
• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all food products.
• Stock and replenish ingredients, packaging, and supplies throughout the day.
• Monitor freshness and rotate products using first-in, first-out procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and putting away inventory.
• Help with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and preparing workstations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous food service, deli, café, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and food quality.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and food safety guidelines.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Weekday, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
PREFERENCES:
• Friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service periods.
• Interest in food preparation and customer hospitality.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to assist with various café and market operations.
